Your Mac Service Journey With OOBE
Lodging a job with us
Step One
Getting started with Oobe starts by submitting a job online or by visiting one of our stores in person to speak to one of our trained technicians
Diagnosing Your Issue
Step Two
In this phase of our repair process involves a highly trained technician or specialist assessing the internal and external components of your device in order to determine what issue you are experiencing.
Informing The Customer
Step Three
When we arrive at this point in the repair process, we contact the customer to inform them of what we have discovered and what the next steps/options are. Should your device not be covered by warranty, we will provide you with a quote for repair if you choose to proceed
Mail-in or Carry-in
Step Four
Once we have been advised to go ahead with the repair (non-warranty), we will preform either a mail-in repair which involves us sending your device to Apples specialised facility to preform the repair or we will do a carry-in repair which involves us ordering parts into our store for one of our highly trained technicians to preform the repair. These processes usually take 5 to 7 working days.
Completion
Step Five
In order to ensure that the issue you reported has been resolved, we test the device once the repair is complete. As soon as the repair on the device is complete, we will advise the customer to collect the device from our facility.
Getting Your Device Ready For Service
Here at Oobe we aspire to make sure that you receive the best service experience possible, this does mean that we do have some requirements from the customer. To make sure we provide you with the quickest service with little to no complication we kindly ask that you preform the following tasks before bringing your device in for service.
Disabling Find My Device is just one of the layers of security that enable us to best service your device with your approval, and stops anyone else from tampering with the device should it be lost or stolen.
Apple requires the device to be removed from the Find My account before service work can proceed. This confirms that you authorise the service, and minimises the risk of stolen or lost equipment being illegitimately serviced.
Back-up My Device
To Prevent any data loss from occurring we recommend backing up your device either to iCloud Drive or to Time Machine
This can be done by enabling iCloud Drive on your Mac or you can use an external Hard Drive set up with Time Machine .
Erasing Your Device
to make sure that your data is all secure we recommend erasing your device before service. We do no ask password for any type of repair following the OOBE privacy policy unless issue with the data itself.
Your security and privacy are important to us every step of the way, from the moment you book a service job with us until the day we return the device to you.
